Karlin Meehan Studios Introduces The Ceramic Drop

03.06.23

Laguna Beach-based artist, Karlin Meehan just released a clay series. Karlin is also known for her paintings, but her roots actually lie in clay and ceramics, which was her major at USC's Roski School of Fine Arts.

“My return to clay started, appropriately, as I've been gardening more. Really getting my hands dirty, so to speak. A few months back, I was clipping the last bloom of the season from my rose bush when I noticed that I had no small, special bud vases to place this treasure in,” Karlin Meehan said. “As usually happens when I don't have something, I want to make it. This gave rise to my new Clay Drop -- a series of handmade ceramic vases in statuesque, organic shapes that capture the power of singularity.”

The idea behind the clay vase series is that you can showcase one bloom (or more), and display them as a stand-alone vase or in a group.

Each vase in the collection celebrates individualism, uniqueness, and handcrafted natural forms.

They make perfect art pieces for your home or to gift to a loved one, with broad appeal, neutral tones and a fantastic price point.
The vases are available at Molly Wood Garden Design in Costa Mesa and available online here.

“On Feb 11th, 2013 the world lost an incredible human being, Ford Petersen. Ford was set to graduate from UC Davis and was following his dream of becoming a veterinarian. All of us at Alicia Pet Care Center were lucky to have spent 4 summers with Ford in our lives and he touched each and every one of us in his own unique way. Ford was a kind and gentle giant of a young man and was dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the animals that he worked with,” Dr. Matthew Wheaton said. “In an effort to allow Ford to make the lasting impact on pets in our community that he so desired, we are pleased to partner with The Ford Petersen Foundation to offer this valuable community service.”

"We hope to allow his life to permanently help animals that are truly in need by designating one day each year, The Ford Petersen Spay Day, as a day of giving back to our community."

**Optional ancillary services such as vaccinations, lab testing, and microchips will be offered at discounted rates.
